BITE Beauty The Lip Pencil Review

If you’re not familiar with BITE Beauty, here’s the low-down: they’re Canadian, natural & high pigment. All BITE Beauty Cosmetics lip products are handcrafted one at a time to provide restorative and nourishing benefits. The lipsticks also contain food-grade natural and organic ingredients like moisturizers and protective antioxidants made from organic fruit butters, Manuka honey and resveratrol. I was able to test out their new product The Lip Pencil complimentary through Influenster.

The Lip Pencil is the newest innovation from BITE Beauty. With 22 colours, these classic wooden barrel lip pencils are $20 CAD for 0.05 oz and have lip-tone inspired shades. The Influenster VoxBox I received contained 2 miniature Amuse Bouche lipsticks (Whiskey & Honeycomb) that match the corresponding lip pencils 044 & 022 respectively.

The Lip Pencils are high-pigment and give great, opaque coverage. With top ingredients being castor oil, beeswax and shea butter, this creamy formula glides so well on my lips and is so lightweight, it feels like nothing. Unfortunately there isn’t a huge colour selection for these pencils and don’t cover many of the BITE Beauty Amuse Bouche shades.

Pro tip: Each BITE lipstick is infused with the age-fighting antioxidant resveratrol with the equivalence of 5 glasses of wine!

As you can see, these swatches are amazing… The colour payoff on The Lip Pencil is so beautiful! The Lip Pencil doesn’t dry out my lips and when used together with the Amuse Bouche, and I found that it lasted 5-6 hours while also eating and drinking. The only disappointment I had with The Lip Pencil was that the pencil tip is so creamy, it is always breaking off. While I love the formula, it may be that my pencils have been dropped several times (before I received them!) and the core is shattered inside. Despite this, I would definitely try additional colours and continue using The Lip Pencil because I need all the help I can get with my perpetually dry lips!
