Green Living Show 2017
Heading into the 11th year of the Green Living Show, the Metro Convention Centre holds 400+ vendors. This 3 day event features natural green products and services available to Canadians. Considered as one of the largest consumer eco-show of the region, the Green Living Show discusses different ways to lead a steady, healthy life in society in the Wellness, Health & Fitness industry.
I had the lovely opportunity to tour the Green Living Show just a few hours prior to opening and it was so much fun! From local brands to large companies, everyone had an eco-conscious perspective. IKEA had a great booth which featured all of their products made from recycled goods.
Green Living Show Recycled Products
What I found was the coolest part of the Green Living Show was how many products are the result of recycling. You may hear about the occasional glass or vase that uses recycled glass, but IKEA featured an entire wall of the products that contain recycled materials. For such a large company, it’s great to hear they’re making a conscious effort with creating an eco-conscious lifestyle more wallet-friendly.
Similar to IKEA, the Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) collects and recycles used tires to create new products where the tires get a second life. Instead of burning them or sending used tires to landfills, these component materials are reused and recycled into dozens of innovative products like these eco-flex bricks! Through the OTS, we have been able to breathe new life into something that would have otherwise been discarded.
Green Living Show Local Food & Drink
Last but not least, let’s talk about food! The Green Living Show has a great global inspired food court and featured many different foods from various regions of the world. From Syria to France and Tibet to India, these foods all feature local ingredients and cost less than $4 per plate.
Have you been to the Green Living Show in the past? What are some of the booths that you’ll be visiting?
