LUSH Love Lettuce Mask Review
If you’re familiar with the brand LUSH, you know they make fresh masks as well as other body and skincare products. From cleansers, moisturizers and fresh masks, you’re sure to find something that will work for you! (Psst, it’s all cruelty-free to boot!) Using an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, butters, clays as well as essential oils, these fresh face masks are not available online since they must be refrigerated in order to stay fresh!
With 11 fresh masks of 2.1 oz to choose from, they’re affordable as they range from $7.95 – $12.95. They easily last more than 1 application and I can usually stretch mine out to about 5 applications (just look at all of that product!). That’s about $1.60 per mask, which is pretty cheap seeing as it’s all fresh ingredients that are perfectly blended for my skin! It’s great to see local products in stores as well as brands that have strong values. This pot is made with recycled plastic and if you bring back 5 pots, you can redeem them for a free fresh mask! How cool is that?!
I originally walked into LUSH wanting Catastrophe Cosmetic which has calamine, chamomile and rose absolute which help to calm and soothe the skin since I had begun breaking out. Unfortunately, since these are fresh masks, they don’t keep a stock of all of the masks or else they’d turn bad so I ended up with the Love Lettuce mask which I ended up loving. Love Lettuce is said to give you softer, more balanced skin and helps to brighten up your complexion with almond shells and French lavender and agar agar gel and honey help to soothe.
This mask felt nice on my skin as it helped to exfoliate while I washed it off. The physical exfoliants are ground up almonds which aren’t harsh on my skin at all as they were fairly smooth. Whenever you use a physical exfoliant though, no matter how “tough” your skin is… remember to go gentle on your skin and don’t mash it in!!
I never noticed this until I heard from a friend, but did you know that there are secret messages beneath the best before date stickers?! How cute!
Overall, I love this mask for its gentle exfoliating properties as well as how much less red my face looked after applying. It has a light lavender scent which I didn’t mind since it calmed both me and my skin down! Look at that green!! Have you tried any of LUSH’s fresh masks yet? I’ll definitely be getting myself some more!
