Mary Kay Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder
I haven’t talked about any initiatives that I’m a fan of, but I love when companies give back. During my high school years, we were required to do at least 40 hours of volunteer work. I enjoyed volunteering and giving back so much that I actually had accumulated over 115 hours! I feel that giving back is very important and that’s why I love the Mary Kay Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder. These rosy glow blushes give back to the community, are highly pigmented and also beautiful on the cheeks!
In Canada from now through August 15th, 2017, Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd. will contribute $2 from each sale of these blushes (both blushes retail for $23 CAD each). These purchases benefit The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation and assists women living with cancer through the Look Good Feel Better program. This program helps to end violence against women by providing grants to women’s shelters and community outreach programs. The Mary Kay Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder is available in two shades: Kind Heart and Giving Heart. The light pink and coral shades are perfect for the warmer months and compliment all skin tones!
Mary Kay Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder Packaging
The baked cheek powders are housed in a black lacquered plastic with the blush Both of these blushes are shaped like a heart which is super cute. When I first opened the compact, the 3-D dome shaped heart looked so cute and fun! Unfortunately there is no mirror to accompany the blush, but I hardly ever use the tiny mirrors anyway.
Mary Kay Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder Formulation
The formulation of these two blushes are baked and I love baked products because I find that they’re generally more pigmented than their powder counterparts. Why is this? Usually powder products are finely milled and pressed. Baked products are cream products that are “baked” to remove all of the moisture. Less moisture means higher colour payoff.
A quick swatch of these powders show the pigmentation of these blushes. This is just 2 heavy swipes on the finger. Giving Heart (pink shade), has more of a shimmer finish and Kind Heart (coral shade) has more of a luminous finish.
Here, on the right side of my cheek (left side of the photo), I have Kind Heart on the cheeks. On the opposite side, my left side of the cheek (right side of the photo), I have Giving Heart on my cheek which shows up a bit better on my skintone.
Unfortunately, it looks like Kind Heart don’t fully show up on my skintone unless I have a heavier hand.
If you’re interested in picking up Kind Heart of Giving Heart before August 15th, you can purchase online or contact your local Mary Kay consultant (here).
