Sephora VIB Sale 2017 Wish List | Tips & Tricks

Every year, Sephora celebrates their VIB and VIB Rouge clientelle by inviting them to exclusive bi-annual sales. The Winter Sephora VIB Sale 2017 includes Rouge First Access for VIB Rouge members who are eligible for 20% off from November 3rd-6th and November 10th-15th. I love this time of year because you can get a discount on your favourite high-end makeup and skincare products with minimal restrictions (you can’t buy a gift card at 20% off!).

The Sephora VIB Sale generally has a tier-based discount system depending on your VIB status. Beauty Insider members receive 15% off and VIB and VIB Rouge members receive 20% off their entire purchase and doesn’t include a minimum purchase or restrictions on how many items or orders you are able to place. BI and VIB members can use their extra discount on the weekend of November 10th-15th whereas Rouge members get an additional weekend on November 3rd-6th!

Even though the Sephora VIB Sale 2017 doesn’t start for at least another week, I’ve already finished a wish list and I’ve sectioned it off into skincare and makeup products.

Sephora Sale 2017 Skincare Wish List

1. Drunk Elephant Volume 1: Hot Date – $120 CAD ($167 value)
I already own the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and have noticed how much of a difference it makes on my skin! Glycolic acid helps increase cell regeneration and the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum is a 12% AHA/BHA gel. I’ve noticed a difference in my skin’s texture, tone as well as pore size since using this product and it’s become a staple in my routine. The Volume 1: Hot Date set also includes mini’s of the Beste Jelly Cleanser which contains mild surfactants and emollients which help to rinse away makeup and gently cleansing skin, Lala Retro Whipped Cream which is a blend of 6 oils whipped into an intense moisturizer as well as a mini of the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil which is rich in antioxidants and omega’s 6 and 9.

2. Dr. Jart+ Tarot of Masks – $45 CAD ($72 value)
I purchased last year’s Dr. Jart+ holiday set and loved that I could try out a variety of masks for a great value. What drew me to the new Dr. Jart+ Tarot of Masks set was the addition of the Rubber Mask Hydration Lover mask that is included. New to the North American market this year, this rubber mask is a two step process. The Rubber Mask Hydration Lover is $17 CAD alone in this set and contains an ampoule serum that includes a rubber mask to wrap the skin to prevent active ingredients from evaporating. The mask set also includes 6 others made of cotton and microfiber.

3. Herbivore True Blue Skin Clarifying Duo – $42 CAD ($60 value)
I remember when I first saw Herbivore, their minimalist packaging caught my eye. I loved the way the products looked and I’ve always wanted to expand my small collection. This duo is a great set for someone interested in natural skincare. The clarifying duo set contains a mask and facial oil, both mini sizes. The mask contains AHA’s from papaya and pineapple enzymes and BHA from white willow bark to help gently exfoliate and increase cell regeneration while the facial oil helps to soothe irritated skin and balance excess oil production.

4. SK-II Hydrating Mask Duo – $23 CAD
When I saw this set on the site, I knew I had to add it to my wish list! This set would make for a great stocking stuffer or luxe Secret Santa gift. The SK-II facial treatment mask is normally $22 CAD for a single mask, so for an extra dollar, the addition of an eye mask is a welcome addition in my books! This Asian beauty brand is new to Sephora and the mask contains the famed Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (A.K.A. Pitera) which is a byproduct of fermentaion, as well as humectants to help deeply hydrate the skin.

5. Too Cool For School My Skin-licious Secret Pantry – $30 CAD
The Too Cool For School set includes 5 assorted single-use masks for hydration, soothing, and brightening treatments. I thought this set was the perfect addition to the list since it features four different masks that are hypoallergenic and a great variety for any mask lover.

6. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel (30 treatments + 5 bonus) – $110 CAD ($122 value)
I’ve been using these treatments for several years now and love them. I have acne prone skin and had been searching for an AHA/BHA product to help. I ended up splurging on these treatments way back in high school and was hooked!

7. Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment – $135 CAD
I’m always on the hunt for a good chemical exfoliant and when this was introduced to the Canadian market, I tried it right away! As a maintenance product, this is great to use daily. When I need a super pick-me-up, I apply this as a mask and have noticed my skin looks so different afterward. This is definitely a splurge-worthy product in my books!

8. Coola SPF 30 Mineral Face Matte Cucumber Sunscreen – $48 CAD
Sunscreens can sometimes be hit or miss. I need a sunscreen that is at least SPF 30 while also not making me look like I slathered my face in grease. Although I haven’t yet tried the sunscreen or brand yet, “matte” caught my eye! The Sephora VIB Rouge sale is always a great way to pick up items that weren’t initially on your radar.

Sephora Sale 2017 Makeup Wish List

1. Sephora Favorites Lashstash – $58 CAD ($158 value)
Every year, Sephora comes out with a collection of Sephora Favorites. The 2017 Lashstash contains 7 deluxe-size and 2 full-sized mascaras, Benefit Cosmetics Rollerlash in Black and Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara in Black, as well as 1 set of Huda Beauty Classic Collection Lashes in Samantha #7. I always love picking up a Sephora Favorites set every year since it’s a great way to try new products and are always a great value for the price.

2. Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda – $72 CAD ($416 value)
Too Faced was always the brand that knew how to draw me in. This set features a limited-edition agenda in addition to the beautiful eye palette and lip and eye mini’s. This year’s Christmas set includes an eye palette with 24 shades, a luminizer, bronzer and blush as well as a deluxe-sized Better Than Sex mascara and deluxe-sized Melted Matte lipstick in Sell Out. With the addition of a super cute agenda to help you stay organized for the 2018 year!

3. Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter – $42 CAD
This highlighter has the most beautiful pink and peachy sheen. This Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door/Chic Phreak is a shimmer finish with a weightless, long-wear cream-to-powder hybrid highlighter duo. Fenty Beauty has been in headlines everywhere and are a great addition to any vanity. You can use this on any part of your body and it comes in 5 other shades.

4. Nudestix Nude(art)ist Box Creator’s Palette – $65 CAD ($168 value)
The Nudestix limited edition set contains 6 custom shades that are created by beauty and lifestyle influencers. I love using Nudestix because their products are so versatile! Each lip shade was hand blended and custom created by influencers @ssssamanthaa, @iamkareno, @lynettecenee, @saythelees, @cydbee, and @makeupbydg. According to Nudestix, the formula lasts like a tattoo with lightweight pigments that wear like a liquid lipstick, yet easy to apply like a pencil. These formulas are a lip stain, lip colour and lip liner in one.

5. Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Peaches and Cream Collection – $55 CAD
This beautiful palette features delicious peachy, creamy and neutral shades in a matte finish for a blendable and buildable look. An added bonus of the palette? It smells delicious, like peaches and cream. This all-matte palette features a creamy formula and the neutral colours are great for a makeup beginner or collectors alike.

6. Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip – $82 CAD ($304 value)
The Sephora Favorites sets always give amazing value! Featuring 10 deluxe-sized and 5 full-sized lip items, it would be a great addition to any beauty lover’s vanity! The Sephora Favorites set features lip glosses, creams as well as stains in bold shades that range from berries to red and soft nudes and mauves.

7. Kat Von D Saint & Sinner Eyeshadow Palette – $83 CAD
This eye palette is part of the Holiday 2017 collection and features 24 gorgeous shades. These pigment-packed shades feature 3 finishes: metallics, mattes, pearls and 2 glimmer shades. From the dreamy, wearable shades of saint, to the bold, unexpected colours of sinner… Kat Von D created a beautiful palette to please the artist in everyone.

8. Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette – $62 CAD
Kat Von D cosmetics is cruelty-free and this eye contouring palette includes neutral, cool and warm shades. These shades are specially designed to define and enhance eyes by contouring, defining and highlighting. The Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette is both buildable and blendable with high-pigments to create versatile looks for both day and night.

Sephora VIB Sale 2017: Tips & Tricks

I’ve attended a few Sephora sales in the past and have some tips on making the most of it! The Sephora VIB sale only comes twice a year and many people use this opportunity to stock up on essentials while also starting their Christmas shopping. My word of advice is to plan ahead! It can definitely take a turn for the worse if you don’t.

If you will be an in-store client, you can expect to receive a tote with purchase on the first day of the sale but the Sephora VIB Sale is offered both online and in-store. Make a list of the products that are your “must-haves” versus “might-wants” and prioritize them. I find that the Sephora sale is always a great way to add some new items that you felt like trying out, but not necessarily sure about. If you’re shopping online, adding the items into your basket before hand gives you a better idea of cost and saves you time when you’re ready to check out.

Sephora’s sale is the perfect time to get ahead on your Christmas shopping list. Don’t forget that you can also use this opportunity to stock up on essentials like foundation! My favourite part of the sale is using the discount to treat myself with a luxury product.
