We all love getting pampered, so it's not a surprise that there are salons everywhere. But have you ever heard of a natural salon? Chances are, unless you live in a metropolis, they're hard to find. Luckily, there's one right in the downtown core of Toronto and I had the pleasure of visiting this innovative beauty salon.
Kelly's Bake Shoppe is the brainchild of Kelly Childs and Erinn Weatherbie. The mother-daughter duo opened their shop, with the desire to create mouth-watering baked goods composed of healthy, guilt-free ingredients. The pair have created such an impressive reputation that thousands of visitors descend on their storefront on a weekly basis to sample their creations.
This past weekend, my girlfriend (Jenny) and I attended the Yoga Conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. I had been complaining all morning of a sore throat. Seasonal allergies and a change in weather had made the back of my throat feel a bit raw. I was yearning for something that would just make the itch go away! In the past I've used a teaspoon of honey to calm down a sore throat and it normally does a decent job...for about an hour. One of the booths on the Trade Show floor that caught my eye was an exhibitor by the name of Beekeeper's Naturals. With a vibrant yellow booth, and a stellar logo, I was naturally curious. As I approached closer, the friendly exhibitor and company co-founder, Daniel, inquired if I had ever experienced the benefits of Propolis before. To be perfectly honest, I had never even heard of the word. (What's propolis?!)
