I love it when the seasons change, it’s like a fresh start. It’s an opportunity to change up your skincare routine, makeup as well as nail colour! I love bright colours so it’s no surprise that when Trust Fund Beauty offered me some new seasonal colours, I couldn’t resist!
Trust Fund Beauty is non toxic and is “7 free” which means they are free from 7 commonly used toxic ingredients. TFB and crew are all about creating products that are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, GMO-free as well as products without the chemicals and toxic preservatives that are found in conventional makeup. It’s a breath of fresh air as most cosmetics within the industry don’t hit all of these targets.
At 17mL for $11-15 CAD*, these nail polishes have more product than the average nail polish (which can range from around 11-15mL). So not only is TFB ethical, but they’ve got your back when looking for the best bang for your buck! I received 4 colours from Trust Fund Beauty, and they all have super fun names!
These colours are perfect for the upcoming warmer months! I especially can’t wait for the summer so that I can wear Game Changer all the time, it’s such a gorgeous fluorescent coral! If you’re wondering where you can find these colours, they’re available on the Trust Fund Beauty site.
Let’s get a close up on each of the colours, shall we?
“I Give Good Tweet” is a pearly periwinkle that’s part of the Spring/Summer Collection (sold out). It looks like a nice sky blue on my nails and beautiful in daylight. This was 2 coats of the polish with no topcoat.
“Game Changer” is part of their Spring 2016 collection and is a fluorescent coral that looks great with a tan, perfect for summer (found here). Since the indoor daylight photo didn’t turn out as well as I hoped it to be, I also took a photo outside. Both photos are 2 coats, no topcoat.
With much better lighting outdoors, see just how gorgeous this shade is?!
The next colours are more airy and light, great spring colours.
“I’m Kind of a Big Deal” is described as a dusty rose and a part of their Hamptons collection (found here). Again, opting for the indoor/outdoor lighting, you can see that there’s a bit of a difference in the intensity. Both shades have 2 coats of polish and no topcoat.
“What’s a Budget?” is a beautiful seafoam blue found within the Prenup collection (found here). This is a beautiful green/blue and would be wonderful for the warmer months. This colour is beautiful to photograph: both photos 2 coats, no topcoat.
This shade is a pretty light blue, almost turquoise… It matches my sweater! Overall, all of these colours without a topcoat lasted about a week of wear.
Interviewing Samara Granofsky
I had the opportunity to ask founder Samara Granofsky a few questions on Trust Fund Beauty.
1) What inspired you to start Trust Fund Beauty?
Samara started this brand in memory of her late mother. Samara’s mother was diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemotherapy. The treatment made her nails brittle and yellow so she wanted a nail polish to wear to feel better about herself. At the time, a the brands on the market offered a limited selection of colours and names that were not fun. Samara’s mother wanted a cool fashion forward brand, but could not find one.
Years after her Mother’s passing in Feburary 2014, Samara decided to launch Trust Fund Beauty. She combined her mothers want and their joint sense of humor to create the brand.
2) What’s your favourite Trust Fund Beauty product?
Our new liquid lip line because I think the texture, color and formula is amazing for being a vegan/cruelty-free product.
3) Trust Fund Beauty is focused on toxin-free and vegan beauty. Have you noticed an increase in interest for natural beauty products? Why do you think that is?
I think people are learning that products can be vegan and cruelty-free while maintaining the integrity and quality of it.
4) Do you have any top natural beauty tips?
Please make sure you blend your makeup and that is matches your neck.
Have you tried Trust Fund Beauty before? What are your thoughts on green beauty?
