Wedding Wednesday: Winter Wedding Ideas
For some, winter is the season that you stay indoors. For others, there’s no view that’s more romantic than a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. Winter weddings in pictures are the most cinematic and magical and a glamorous winter wonderland wedding ceremony can be achieved with little effort! I’ve got some winter wedding ideas that are sure to wow your guests and make your day spectacular!
Winter Wedding Ideas
Hot Chocolate Bar
Hawthorne and Main’s Hot Cocoa Bar
This is probably my favourite part of having a winter wedding. It’s such a cute idea and a lovely way to incorporate a favourite winter drink at your winter wedding. Get creative! In addition to marshmallows, create a station that includes cinnamon sticks, chocolate shavings, peppermint candy canes as well as whipped cream! Boozy add-ins such as Kahlua, Bailey’s or Schnapps are also a great addition to the table.
Frozen Flowers

During the winter, everything is frozen and it gives off a beautiful look when paired with foliage. Adding flowers (or even herbs!) to your ice cubes in drinks or champagne tub makes for a gorgeous addition to your wedding.
Faux Fur Wedding Wrap

If your wedding ceremony is outdoors or you’re taking photos outside, you may want to add a faux fur wrap to your outfit. The faux fur addition completes the look and also adds some warmth. I love the way that the faux fur shawl contrasts against the delicate lace dress and beautiful bouquet.
Calligraphy Place Settings

When thinking of place holders, adding a little piece of rosemary or cranberries are a great way of sprucing up an otherwise plain place card. The golden calligraphy adds a beautiful sheen to the natural paper as well.
Velvet Accents
By incorporating velvet accents into your wedding, it helps keep things interesting with different textures. Velvet is a gorgeous fabric that looks regal and cozy when it’s cold out. You can add velvet as easily as a ribbon on bouttenieres or keep things interesting by adding it to your shoes!
