What is Manuka?

The manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium) is found throughout New Zealand and grows into a shrub or small tree. The tree also products small white flowers which bloom in the spring and summer seasons. This tree is also more commonly known as Tea Tree, but is different than the Tea Tree in Australia.

Manuka oil has anti-worm, anti-bacterial and insecticidal properties and is sold in New Zealand and many other countries. Manuka honey is a very old remedy for bacterial infections and is a very popular honey. This honey can be used for sore throats, skin treatments and much more!
